The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
