The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water poured out 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
