And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols. 35 Lord, the idols have misled many people. Whoever follows me is my friend. As for those who disobey, You are certainly All-forgiving and All-merciful. 36 Our Lord, I have made some of my seed to dwell in a valley where is no sown land by Thy Holy House; Our Lord, let them perform the prayer, and make hearts of men yearn towards them, and provide them with fruits; haply they will be thankful. 37 O Lord, You have knowledge of what we hide and what we reveal, for nothing on the earth or in the skies is hidden from God. 38 Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication. 39 My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity (also); our Lord! and accept my prayer. 40 O our Lord! grant me protection and my parents and the believers on the day when the reckoning shall come to pass! 41
