Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
