WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them hope to enter [by this means] a garden of bliss? 38 No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know. 39 But nay! I call to witness [Our being] the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise and sunset: verily, well able are We 40 to replace them with others better than them: nothing can prevent Us from doing this, 41 So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised - 42 the Day on which they will hastily come forth from their graves, as though they were hurrying on to the altars of their deities. 43 Their eyes lowered in dejection, ignominy covering them (all over)! such is the Day the which they are promised! 44
