The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
