The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 For a mighty day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, watching. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
