(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 and let him share my task, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
