And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
