Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists; 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
