And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
