The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
