If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!" 41 Some of them listen to you. But can you make the deaf hear you, even though they cannot understand? 42 And some of them look unto thee; what, wilt thou then guide the blind, though they do not see? 43 Indeed Allah does not oppress men at all, but they do wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 And whether We shew thee some of that which We have promised them, or We cause thee to die, unto us is their return, and Allah is witness of that which they do. 46 A Messenger is sent to every people; and when their Messenger comes, the fate of that people is decided with full justice; they are subjected to no wrong. 47 They say: "When is this promise going to come, if what you say is true?" 48 Say: I do not control for myself any harm, or any benefit except what Allah pleases; every nation has a term; when their term comes, they shall not then remain behind for an hour, nor can they go before (their time). 49 Say: Have ye thought: When His doom cometh unto you as a raid by night, or in the (busy) day; what is there of it that the guilty ones desire to hasten? 50 Besides, if He was to send them the punishment which they want to quickly experience, would they then have faith? 51 Then will the sinners be told: "Now taste everlasting torment. Should you be rewarded for anything else but what you did?" 52 They ask you to tell them if it is true. Say: 'Yes, by my Lord! It is true, and you cannot frustrate it' 53
