And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
