Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
