No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning to mortals, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
