The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
