Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
