And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
