Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
