Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
