Al-Mu' minoon 3 of 6
And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 (The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies." 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 To Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allah). 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
