And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: "Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed! 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
