(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
