The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
