And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon. 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 but they rejected him, and thus will certainly be called to account; 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 and him We left thus to be remembered among later generations: 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 Verily Lot was one of the apostles, 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 Verily, you pass by them in the morning. 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
