Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
