The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
