Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
53 verses, revealed in Mecca after Elucidated (Fussilat) before Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 A'in. Sin. Qaf. 2 So reveals to thee, and to those before thee, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 3 All that is in the heavens and earth belongs to Him: He is the Exalted, the Almighty. 4 The heavens nearly break apart above them as the angels exalt with the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Indeed Allah is the Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 5 And Allah is watching those who have chosen supporters besides Him; and you are not responsible for them. 6 And thus We have inspired in thee a Lecture in Arabic, that thou mayst warn the mother-town and those around it, and mayst warn of a day of assembling whereof there is no doubt. A host will be in the Garden, and a host of them in the Flame. 7 And if Allah had pleased He would surely have made them a single community, but He makes whom He pleases enter into His mercy, and the unjust it is that shall have no guardian or helper. 8 Did they, perchance, [think that they could] choose protectors other than Him? But God alone is the Protector [of all that exists,] since it is He alone who brings the dead to life, and He alone who has the power to will anything. 9

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
