The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 and by the Book in lines 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 By the House Frequented. 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
