Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
