He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 and in awe [of God] 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 How We pour water in showers 25 and let the earth to break open 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and palms 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
