And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He abandoned his people 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 They say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
