The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
