T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta' Ha' 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. 21 And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
