▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
