Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Magnify the Name of thy Lord the Most High 1 Who created all things and fashioned them in good proportion; 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall make you to recite (the Quran), so you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) shall not forget (it), 6 Save that which Allah may will. Verily He knoweth the public and that which is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones, 11 He who will be flung to the great Fire 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 Nay, you prefer the life of this world; 16 But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 This, indeed, was in the ancient Scrolls, 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
