And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
