The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
