And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 Neither can the sun overtake the moon, nor the night outpace the day: Each of them keeps coursing in its orbit. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 and when they are told, "Give to others out of what God has provided for you," those who are bent on denying the truth say to the believers, "Why should we feed those whom God could feed if He wanted? You are clearly in error!" 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
