And when Abraham said unto his father and his folk: Lo! I am innocent of what ye worship 26 [I worship] only Him who created me, and He will certainly guide me," 27 And Ibrahim kept this declaration among his progeny, in order that they may desist. 28 In fact I gave them and their forefathers the usage of this world until the truth and the Noble Messenger who conveyed the message clearly, came to them. 29 And when the truth came to them they said, “This is magic, and we disbelieve in it.” 30 And they say: "Why is not this Quran sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta'if)?" 31 Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of your Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in this world, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that some may employ others in their work. But the Mercy (Paradise) of your Lord (O Muhammad SAW) is better than the (wealth of this world) which they amass. 32 And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount 33 And for their houses, doors (of silver), and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, 34 And ornaments of gold. Yet all that would have been but a provision of the life of the world. And the Hereafter with your Lord would have been for those who keep from evil. 35
