Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
