Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised, 93 Then do not, O Lord, put me among the sinners." 94 And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe. 96 And pray: "My Lord! I seek Your refuge from the suggestions of the evil ones; 97 O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they attend me' 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 so that perhaps I shall act righteously for the rest of my life." Although he will say so but his wish will never come true. After death they will be behind a barrier until the day of their resurrection. 100 When the trumpet blast is sounded no ties of lineage will hold among them, nor will they ask after one another. 101 Then those whose scales are heavy, they are the successful. 102 and those whose scales are light, those will be the ones who will have courted loss. They will abide in Hell. 103 The fire shall scorch their faces, and they therein shall be in severe affliction. 104 Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them. 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 Our Lord! Take us out of this. Then if we revert (to evil-doing) we shall indeed be wrongdoers." 107 [But] He will say: "Away with you into this [ignominy]! And speak no more unto Me! 108 Verily there was a party of My bondmen who said: our Lord! we have believed, wherefore forgive us and have mercy upon us, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones! 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 I have rewarded them this Day for their steadfastness, and it is they who have triumphed." 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will say: we tarried a day or part of a day; ask those who keep count. 113 He shall say, 'You have tarried but a little, did you know. 114 Do you think We created you for nothing, and that you will not return to Us?" 115 So exalted be Allah, the True King! there is no god but he, Lord of the Throne honoured. 116 He who invokes any other god along with Allah " one for whom he has no evidence" his reckoning is with his Lord alone. Indeed, these unbelievers shall not prosper. 117 And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 118
