Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
