In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
