And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 “And forgive my father* he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 For, [on that Day,] paradise will be brought within sight of the God-conscious, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
