The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
