The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 thy robes purify 4 Pollution shun! 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 Then he looked, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
