Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
