The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And no trifle. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
